چکیده

With the development of next generation mobile networks, new research challenges have emerged, and technologies been proposed to address them. On other hand, reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) technology is being investigated for partially controlling wireless channels. RIS a promising improving signal quality by scattering electromagnetic waves in nearly passive manner. Heterogeneous networks (HetNets) are another that designed meet capacity requirements network. can be used improve system performance context HetNets. This study investigates applications surfaces (RISs) heterogeneous downlink (HetNets). Due network densification, small cell base station (SBS) interferes with macrocell users (MUEs). In this paper, we utilise mitigate cross-tier interference HetNet via directional beamforming adjusting phase shift RIS. We consider RIS-assisted consisting multiple SBS nodes MUEs both direct paths reflected paths. Therefore, aim maximise sum rate all jointly optimising transmit (MBS) An efficient reflecting coefficient-based optimisation (RCO) based on successive convex approximation approach. Simulation results provided show effectiveness scheme terms its comparison without but random shifts.

Cross-Tier Interference Management Schemes in Cognitive Heterogeneous Networks

To satisfy the ever-increasing data rate and service coverage demands, wireless communication networks evolve into heterogeneous networks (HetNets), where low-cost small base stations are embedded in conventional macrocells. Intercell interference emerges as the key capacity-limiting factor in such dense networks, restricting the reusability of spectral resources. Therefore, advanced interferen...

Downlink Interference Mitigation Scheme for Two-tier OFDMA Cellular Networks

In a two-tier cellular network, macrocells and femtocells coexist. Since femtocells use low transmission power and share network resources with macrocells, they are considered as one of the promising solutions to highly congested network environments. However, since femtocells are deployed in a selforganized manner without cell-planning, they cause severe downlink interference to macro users. T...

Location-based spectrum allocation and partitioning scheme for cross-tier interference mitigation in macro-femtocell networks

In this paper, we address the cross-tier interference problem in a two-tier network which consists of overlaid femtocells within a macrocell range. In the considered network, macro and femto base stations are assumed with the capabilities of power control and beamforming, differently from user terminals. Under such environments, we devise a decentralized solution where each femtocell determines...

Interference Mitigation in CR-Enabled Heterogeneous Networks

The heterogeneous network (HetNet), which deploys small cells such as picocells, femotcells, and relay nodes within macrocell, is regarded as a cost-efficient and energy-efficient approach to resolve increasing demand for data bandwidth and thus has received a lot of attention from research and industry. Since small cells share the same licensed spectrum with macrocells, concurrent transmission...

Cooperative Interference Mitigation Algorithm in Heterogeneous Networks

Heterogeneous hetworks (HetNets) have been introduced as an emerging technology in order to meet the increasing demand for mobile data. HetNets are a combination of multi-layer networks such as macrocells and small cells. In such networks, users may suffer significant cross-layer interference. To manage this interference, the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) has introduced enhanced Int...
